Parents and mental health experts world wide are expressing concern and outrage over the alarming amount of the toys sexualizing young children sitting on the shelves this year, one culprit in particular: LoL Dolls.
These dolls are marketed to young children yet tend to be provocative in nature. Many of these child like dolls aimed at ages 4+ wear fishnets and lingerie. Once dunked in water these dolls reveal tattoos and lacey underwear as well as nipple patches. MGA the manufacturers have been forced to remove several of their explicit dolls from shelves due backlash from parents, professionals and buyers. Several child psychologists have weighed in on the subject, stressing that exposing children to sexual content or pedophilia like images is harmful and makes children more vulnerable to predators; it is called grooming. Many stores have removed LOL Dolls from their shelves because of the threat it poses to young children. The MGA toy company recently released it's male doll series that has a very realistic penis and testicles- none of LoLs female dolls are anatomically correct. These toys are marketed to YOUNG CHILDREN.
HEB Grocery is a family grocery store. They say no store does more? For who? When confronted by customers about concerns of HEB carrying these dolls the corporate buyers make no apology, siting that LoL were #2 sellers in America.
We are asking that HEB take the moral high ground and stop carrying LOL and NaNaNa in their stores. All of your customers deserve to shop comfortably, without fear that they will see pictures of children in fishnets or other grooming materials.
